George at Asda picked up Best Variety, while Nutmeg at Morrisons was praised as a Hidden Gem
MadeForMums, the UK’s number one parenting site for product reviews, has announced the results of its 2023 school uniform testing. Summer holidays are underway, and the shops are full of back-to-school uniforms, but with a greater range than ever on offer MadeForMums set out to find which uniforms parents and children rated most highly.
Hand-picked families from around the country have rigorously tested all the key components of a primary school uniform, subjecting them to a series of evaluations that included washing durability, sizing accuracy, and adaptability to cater to various body shapes and special requirements.
As well as undergoing testing at home by families, the school uniforms from major high street retailers and supermarkets were also examined by MadeForMums panel of expert judges.
More than 900 additional families also participated in a survey in June 2023 to identify which brands really do offer the best school uniform for a variety of needs. Feedback was provided on a range of criteria including how well it washed, how well it fit, the quality of the uniform and whether they thought that it provided good value for money. The results of the survey were then combined with the findings of home testers and the MadeForMums panel, with 5 retailers being singled out.
“Obviously, value for money continues to be key this year, but we’ve also seen a shift towards durability and longevity as parents think ahead more. It’s great to see both the high street and supermarkets meeting the needs of families with good value, long-lasting uniforms that are adaptable to different needs and budgets.”
